What Type of Licence do I need to drive cars, vans or multi seaters from us:
Standard driving licence is sufficient to drive our vehicles. As from January 1st 1997 the law has changed relating to minibuses. If you passed your driving test on or after 1st January 1997 you need the relevant licence to drive a minibus. If you passed your driving test before 1st January 1997 you automatically have the right to drive both and up to a 15 seater minibus. Non UK driving licences we must see an International Driving Licence or licence from the country you come from and a current passport.
What documents do I need to hire a vehicle when the vehicle is delivered:
A full current photo UK driving licence plus another two forms of identification i.e. utility bill, bank statement or photo id. If non UK driving licence the current licence from the country you reside and your passport.
What if I have points or a conviction on my driving licence:
We allow a maximum of 6 points for speeding/traffic offences; any points above this will be referred to our insurance company so you will need to telephone us with the details.again a charge may be subject to what the points are for and you will be advised at the time of your booking
Vehicle mileage limits:
We have a limited mileage of 150 per day for all vehicles. Drivers doing over 150 miles per day will be subject to a charge of 30p a mile unless a price has been agreed beforehand and included in your booking confirmation.
What are the age restrictions for hiring a vehicle from us:
Drivers must be 21 years of age and up to 75 Years of age. Drivers under 25 will be subject to an additional £15.00 per day extra insurance charge. This will be discounted for hires 7 days and over. Drivers over 70 years of age must contact us as there will be an extra charge set by the insurance company and will be able to tell you the cost when we have your driving history ie. any points you have or accidents you have had in the last 5 years.
Can I add an additional driver and how much extra does it cost:
£ 15.00 per day per driver for cars and vans. £20.00 per day for 9/15 seaters. Again this can be discounted for hires 7 days and over.
Extra Insurance CDW (Collision Damage Waver) Insurance what is this:
Fully comprehensive insurance is provided for each vehicle with an excess of £1000.00; we do offer a Collision Damage Waiver to reduce the excess. This is charged at £10.00 per day for cars and vans and £20.00 per day for multi seaters. Again this can be discounted for hires 7 days and over depending on your driving history. Personal possessions are not covered on our insurance.
All our vehicles are covered by the RAC or the AA. All details are clearly displayed in each vehicle.
What happens if I have an accident or the vehicle is stolen:
Contact us immediately If you have been involved in an accident or any damage to the vehicle in the event of a theft please contact the police.
What happens if I get a parking ticket or speeding fine:
Your credit card will be debited with the cost of the fine and an administration charge of £40 unless you advise us at the time of your hire. Drivers details will be forwarded to the relevant authority which will increase the charge so it’s in your best interest to advise at the time of return so we can save you these charges. Should you not advise us that you have received a parking ticket or speeding fine we will charge the £40.00 administration charge.
What happens if I cancel my booking are there any charges:
If you don’t turn up for your hire within 1 hour after the collection time, or cancel the hire with less than 24 hours notice we reserve the right to charge the hire cost. If we are contacted we will endeavour to rearrange your hire or cancel your booking without any charges subject to the re-hiring of the vehicle.
COLLECTING AND RETURNING THE VEHICLE:
As per your rental agreement hires run for 24 hours e.g. 8.15am – 8.15am or 5.00pm to 5.00pm.
Can I return the vehicle outside business hours:
Yes but only on a pre agreed arrangement with us which must be agreed at the time of your hire and must be noted on the hire agreement or in any email confirmation.
What condition do I have to return the vehicle in:
The rental agreement states that you must return the vehicle in the same condition as you received it from us i.e. clean and free of any rubbish. Any vehicle needing additional valeting will be subject to a valeting charge or in the case of vans leaving rubbish or unwanted items will incur a charge for disposal.
What happens if I return the vehicle late:
If a vehicle is going to be returned late please contact us as soon as possible or charges will be made for late returns subject to the original hire agreement. Unless you notify us of a late return this will be subject to an additional vehicle hire cost per day and is subject to our discretion.
Can I collect or return a vehicle outside normal rental hours:
If a vehicle is going to be returned late please contact us asap, charges may be made for late returns subject to original hire agreement.
Can I collect or return a van outside normal rental hours?
Yes, subject to prior arrangement at the time of your booking.
Vehicle Payments/Paying for your vehicle:
Vehicle hires can be paid for by Cash, Credit/Debit Card or bank transfer.
